#GivingTuesday #PromoteHealth

This year your #GivingTuesday donations will provide a medicine to treat intestinal worms at Grace School. It is recommended that school age children in areas with a high incidence of intestinal worms be treated yearly. This is a need that school administrator Ibrahima Kodio has identified.  Although the Malian government in theory supplies the population with this medicine it fails to do so in rural areas like Koro. It has been over two years since they were last treated. We can help.

Children with intense worm infections perform poorly in school and they are absent more often. Treating the problem in a population- based program has been shown to be a cost effective way to improve attendance and school performance.

We are always searching for new ways to help our students succeed. By donating to Grace Missions as part of the #GivingTuesday campaign you have a compelling opportunity to help in a practical way. The cost for a single treatment is only $1.40. We hope to raise enough money to treat all of the students and their siblings at home.  Any donations collected above that amount will go towards the school’s budget.

In a world of uncertainty, of mass migration and transience, of power shifts and political unrest, places like Grace Private School are more important than ever. The children in Koro, Mali are receiving a solid education including bible study and practical training with great teachers. With your help they are preparing to find their place in the world. A world where their best chance at avoiding unemployment and violence, of being healthy and happy, is to stay in school. We thank those that have supported Grace Missions this year. We ask you to consider a financial gift on #GivingTuesday, a day set aside to focus on something outside of ourselves. An #UNselfie
