Thanks to you, 2015 has passed; personally I do not recall a busier year in my life. It seemed so short. We hope the eyes of the Lord your God always was upon you, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year 2015! And hope it will be in 2016 and more. (Deuteronomy 11:12) It is quickly time again to see what we have done and what we can do; In 2015 we continued by the help of God through you, to experience growth and success at school, reaching many kids and their family with the message of Love of God for all; with a huge and outstanding change in term of school buildings. - From straw class rooms to full concrete classroom buildings- We could do nothing like this without your help. Five years ago, freshly married anxiously tying up the paper work to start this school little did I know that we would be at the point we are now! During the Year of 2015 we have together:
Despite all the movement, threat and killings in our country, our prayer is that our fear of God and our desire to serve him will be above the fear of men and their weapons and that we always be able to face persecution with courage and rectitude. We acknowledge your prayers as community or individuals to support us in this spiritual battle. We can tell that the strength and peace we had after the assassination of uncle Timothé and later our friends Joël and Samuel in Timbuktu, had nothing to do with ordinary or human character, it is a fruit of your prayer support. We greet you for that!!! We still have long ways to go, to keep providing quality education in an adequate environment and reach more people, especially the families who do not send their kids to school, or those who do not send the girls to school. We therefore encourage you to stay faithful in supporting the cause of education during this New Year 2016. We wish you a wonderful year 2016, full of happiness, blessing and peace. God bless you. Ibrahima. In a seriously insecure world what powerful weapon can purchase security? To this question many answers are possible. Many have spent a lot of money purchasing expensive weapons, and expensive training for their use. But the best answer I believe is “Equipping the upcoming generation with Love and forgiveness”. Even though TV and video games are not helping much in this at least here in Mali, we as schools are not neglecting the shaping power we have in those kids who are ultimately the leaders and deciders of the future. It is now that we can shape what tomorrow will be for our nation. I know people who I am sure will never do any terrorist attack in the future, - the kids we train in the Love of God. As it is said, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it” Proverbs 22:6. We therefore have the most efficient and sure weapon against terrorism- CHRISTIAN BIBLICAL EDUCATION. This is our mission, our job and it is all we long for at Grace School. As supporters you are partnering with us in this divine and clean war against the evil of terrorism. We therefore, in addition to our prayers and teachings, have seriously warned our students’ parents to not purchase any gun toys for their kids. Nor take them to any meeting where there are possibilities of preaching radicalization words. We are grateful for the obedience of parents as we deeply to explain them all the impact those things can have on the kids. As we are at that time of the year when we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, the whole Grace School personnel and the students thank you for your partnership with us in shaping a better future for our nation and the world in extension through Christian education in Koro, Mali. Blessings, Ibrahima |
